Learning Rationale: Students, in small groups, will use their knowledge acquired from the previous lesson to develop, plan and record a podcast (using Audacity) or video interview in which they will upload to Edmodo. In this interview, they will be discussing a specific aspect of a positive influence or connection between Australia and Asian countries, from the perspective of both sides.
Lesson Goals: At the end of this lesson, students will have demonstrated their knowledge of the connections and influences between Australia and the Asian region. They will have demonstrated their ability to give multi-media based presentation through the medium of podcast or mock interview.

Lesson Resources:
Recording software and devices (Video and Audio)
Audacity application
Lesson Outline
Students will begin the lesson by reviewing their Prezi or similar presentation from the previous lesson.
Once students have a prepared storyboard/script, give the groups access to the recording/video equipment. Students will record their interviews/podcasts in isolations from other groups.
Students will transfer their work to a personal device. Students will be given the chance to edit their work using Audacity
Students will upload their file from Audacity to Edmodo. Peers will then spend time watching and listening to their peers work, commenting on the post and asking any questions they may have.
Assessment Opportunity:
The teacher can view these podcasts or interviews to create a summative assessment of how students see Australia’s connections with other countries and how these benefit change in people or places. Reviewing which students are engaging in asking questions, commenting on posts can be used as a formative assessment of learning for the teacher.

- Teacher should emphasis that they should look at a strand or connection they are particularly interested in.
- The list from the previous lesson should be consulted for choosing links.
Once students have a prepared storyboard/script, give the groups access to the recording/video equipment. Students will record their interviews/podcasts in isolations from other groups.
Students will transfer their work to a personal device. Students will be given the chance to edit their work using Audacity
- This can include sound effects for podcasts such as intro music.
- This could include title and credit for the interviews.
Students will upload their file from Audacity to Edmodo. Peers will then spend time watching and listening to their peers work, commenting on the post and asking any questions they may have.

SAMR ANALYSIS
- Creating a digitally based podcast/interview through Audacity gives the ability of modification from the original task. In particular is the ability to disseminate the file of the podcast/interview and edit it. An interview/podcast simply read out loud in front of the class would not allow any of the credits or effects that massively improves the professional quality of the piece and allows it to be added to a digital blog in Edmodo.
