Students will begin building upon the research they started earlier in the unit more specifically about languages, religions and spiritual identities within different countries in the Asian region.
As learners begin to gather information they can start creating a presentation of their knowledge using Comic Life. For each country a separate template needs to be used.
At the completion of the task students can upload their graphics up on Edmodo for other students to view and draw comparisons from.
Assessment Opportunity:
Once students have uploaded their Comic Life pages to Edmodo, the teacher can gauge an understanding of student’s ability to draw comparisons from the characteristics of an Asian country and Australia.

- Students should work towards picking two countries to research in depth in preparation for there presentation with Comic Life
- Students also need to consider the cultural identity of Australia in preparation for the comparison of the three different countries
As learners begin to gather information they can start creating a presentation of their knowledge using Comic Life. For each country a separate template needs to be used.
- The teacher will need to do a introduction to Comic Life during the lesson to ensure students have a base level to begin working throughout the application
At the completion of the task students can upload their graphics up on Edmodo for other students to view and draw comparisons from.
- With the post on Edmodo, learners will write a short summary of the similarities or are differences with these two countries to Australia
Assessment Opportunity:
Once students have uploaded their Comic Life pages to Edmodo, the teacher can gauge an understanding of student’s ability to draw comparisons from the characteristics of an Asian country and Australia.
SAMR ANALYSIS
- Comic Life serves as a modification on other tasks in the same vein in that far more can be produced in far better quality in far less time than would be possible with other similar means. The closest equivalent to what Comic Life provides that is a non-digital resource would be cutting and pasting pre-prepared panels, or drawing panels, both of which are lower quality and more more labour intensive, meaning less room for exploration in the classroom environment.
