Learning Rationale: Students will spend this lesson researching the connections and influences between Australia and countries in the Asian region. They will then use a Prezi presentation to demonstrate the links that they have discovered during this investigation, in an engaging for of technology.
Lesson Goals: Students will able to connect between Australia and Asia countries such as through trade, migration, tourism, aid, education, defence or cultural influences and explaining the effects of at least one of these connections on their own place and another place in Australia.

This lesson provides an opportunity for the teacher to make an inference about students understanding of the connection that Australia has with Asian countries. This will inform their future teaching for the next lesson as students build upon these connections to make connections with technology use, and the influence this has on people and places.

- This are types of connections that student can explore trade, migration, tourism, aid, defence or cultural influences
- Before students begin researching play the following video, Asia skills: a taster (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYhes3ExHME) for students to begin see some connections
- Students collaborate to create a Prezi
- Students don’t need to find for every connection for every country. They may prefer to chose an area an see they connections Australia has with multiple countries or chose one country and research all the different types of connections that Australia has with this country.

SAMR ANALYSIS
- Prezi in this instance is used as an augmentation of a standard presentation. A standard, non-tech presentation would be similar in nature, but using Prezi makes the presentation easier to view, far more aesthetically pleasing and gives it the opportunity to be reviewed multiple times, unlike a verbal presentation.
